Frequently asked questions

You have questions?

If you’ve never had a photo shoot before, or curious about what’s involved, then you may have questions. Below are the most common questions we hear. If your question isn’t here, then please email us - your question could be added to this FAQ after that!

Is there an upper age limit for boudoir shoots?

Not at all. We’ve photographed women from 22 to 64 years - so far. We even have a portfolio page showing some of the women in their 50s and 60s that we’ve photographed.

Will my images be on the internet?

Our default position is your complete privacy. No one outside of the Smoke&Mirrors Boudoir team will even know about your boudoir shoot or see your photographs unless you choose to show and tell. We’d love it if you allowed one or two photos from your session in our portfolio, but that’s completely up to you. And feel free to post any of your own images online.

Can I bring along a friend?

Yes, you can. You’re welcome to bring along a woman friend for support. No boyfriends, partners or husbands please, as this tends to change the dynamics of the photo shoot..

Do I need to know posing?

We will help you with every pose from head to toe including where to look and facial expressions. Every woman we photograph are everyday women just like yourself, most with no prior modelling or posing experience.

My body is not as it was when I was 18. Can you take flattering photos of me?

With our expertise in posing, lighting and the costuming, we are confident in offering our services to women of all shapes and sizes. This experience is for any everyday woman to feel beautiful.

What do I need to bring?

We’ll send you a prep guide so you’ll know exactly what to bring.
